March 2022

Hey there,

Happy St. Patrick's Day, everyone. One of my favourite things about March 17th isn't drinking beer (I can do that any day).

For me, March 17th means spring is a few days away, and winter is behind us. Skates away and golf clubs out!

Isn't it nice to drive with the car window down? And then put it up in a panic when you see that puddle ahead and a car coming towards you that's going to hit it at the exact time you pass. Haha.

At least when we had crank windows, you could roll faster—pushing the button harder doesn't make the window go up any quicker.

A quick thought about luck—when you sell a house, you need a little bit of it.

All the planning and preparation in the world is no substitute for an eager buyer with money to spend and a need to fill.

We see ordinary houses sell at a price that makes you scratch your head, and well-priced ones just sit.

Sometimes the only explanation is lucky timing by the seller.

This is funny and also relevant in SK, I think :)

It's also relevant when selling a house in SK.

When a new listing hits the market, somewhere on the property is a lockbox holding the key.

Like trained search dogs, realtors arriving to show the house sniff out the location.

You should see us in action, it's beautiful to watch. Once located, we head for the closest door and in.

So, make sure the closest door is the one that impresses the most—usually the front door.

"But hey Curtis, we don't use the front door, we always come in the side door."

That may be true, and the new owners will likely do the same thing, but the side (or back) door usually leads to a stairwell or cramped space.

We don't want buyers waiting while the person in front of them takes off their kicks.

Bring 'em through the front door.

Curtis

Listing Pic Fail of the Month!

This picture actually appeared in a listing in April of 2017. I didn't crop this.

I call this one "unhinged".

Congrats to Donald this month who found the perfect house with room for his pool table!
